PTE Stands for Pearson Test of English Academic. It is a computer-based academic English Language test which focuses on four primary areas of non-native English speakers who want to study abroad.
PTE Academic is accepted for student and migration applications across the world. In addition to its unbiased approach to testing, the test has many unique advantages.
PTE test consists of two exams: PTE General & PTE Academic.
In the PTE Academic exam format, there are four sections: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing.
In the PTE General exam, two sections are further divided into six sections altogether.
PTE Exam is administered in more than 200 locations worldwide.
PTE Academic is supported by the Graduate Management Admission Council. Amongst other universities, London Business School in the UK, Harvard Business School, Stanford Graduate School of Business, and Yale University in the United States accept PTE Academic scores.
Other institutions in other countries, including Spain, France and China, have also approved up to accept PTE Academic.
According to Wikipedia, Exam scores are published on the Global Scale of English, a patterned, numeric scale from 10 to 90 which can measure English language proficiency more precisely.

There are a total of 20 different question formats, ranging from multiple choice through to essay writing and interpreting information in PTE Test.

PTE Academic assesses real-life, academic English of Candidate, so candidate will hear excerpts from lectures and view graphs and charts.
Q- How can I improve my Pte reading?
- Survey for the topic sentence that can stand alone. Every paragraph addressed in a logical order begins with a topic sentence.
- Search for the Pronouns, Nouns, Adjectives & time-related phrases.
- Pay attention to the clue-words.
- Do not spend not more than 3-4 minutes on any re-order the paragraph question.
Q- How PTE scores are calculated?
PTE Academic Score Report includes overall score, communicative skills scores and enabling skills scores. Overall PTE Score reflects real-life English language ability. Score ranges is 10-90 Points.
Q- Is 79 Pte easy to score?
If a Candidate has got 9 in PTE Reading and is an expert reader, he/she should easily get a 79 in PTE Reading. Candidate can easily score good in PTE Speaking as it is very easy. Scoring 79 won’t be difficult to achieve.
Q- Does Canada accept PTE?
PTE Academic is accepted by Canadian Universities. Candidate can use his/her score to fast track the application for university and college applications.
Q- Is there any negative marking in PTE?
There is negative marking in some questions of listening and reading sections of PTE, Mainly in objective questions. Apart from this type, there is no negative marking in any question.
PTE Reading Tips:
- Do not spend more than 2 minutes on this part( Time Management)
- Improve your vocabulary
- Spelling matters
- Improve the way you read
- Do not be in a rush to drag and drop
- If not sure about the answer, eliminate options that are nowhere close to the answer
- Learn Vocabulary using Mnemonics
- Learn the right use of words with similar meanings( Good grammar and context will help you)
